Good Morning, Lord
A daily prayer of surrender, protection, faith, courage, and trust in the Lord’s presence.
Welcome to this morning prayer — a quiet place to begin the day in the presence of God.
In a world filled with distractions, uncertainty, and noise, this prayer is meant to help center the heart on Christ before anything else. It is a daily reminder to walk by faith instead of feelings, to seek God’s wisdom over our own understanding, and to trust that He is working even when we cannot see it.
Whether you are starting your day with peace or carrying burdens into the morning, may these words encourage you to slow down, surrender your day to the Lord, and draw near to His presence.
I place today in Your hands, Father. May Your presence be so real and so tangible to me that I may feel Your powerful presence in everything I do and wherever I go today. May I be overwhelmed by Your great love and faithfulness.
Give me the strength to face this day, Lord. I do not know what it will bring, and I do not know what awaits me today, so be with me, Father. Direct my steps. Lead me in Your Word this morning to exactly what You want me to hear and meditate on this day. Bring to my mind any sin that I need to repent of and ask for Your healing power of forgiveness. Strengthen my heart to walk in obedience to Your commandments. Grant me a thirst and a hunger for more of You and less of me.
Lord, I pray for Your divine protection for me today. You are my hiding place. Under Your wings I will always find refuge. Surround me with Your love that I may not fear whatever might come against me. Please silence every confusing voice from the enemy. Keep me from being distracted or discouraged by the devil. Protect me from any selfish or careless thoughts, words, or actions, and any carnal wants or desires that do not give You glory.
Help me to keep my eyes on You so that I am not led astray by temptations where I am weak. Help me to stand strong when others are inconsiderate of me, that I may draw on Your love for them. Give me patience, Lord, that my responses may always be kind. Please help me to control my tongue, O Lord. Fill me with all the fruits of Your Spirit that I may be more like You.
Be my provider, be my Jehovah-Jireh. Be my way-maker, Lord. Be my strong tower, my protector, and my master. Father, I have faith that You are working all things together for my good. Even as You are performing that good work in the background, even as You are working in ways that I cannot see or comprehend, I will continue to trust You. I will continue to have faith because Your ways are so much higher and better than mine.
Lord, grant me opportunities to build friendships and reach future saints for Your Kingdom. Give me discernment about those I should pray for or reach out to in the course of my day. Father, I pray that You will open doors that lead to a better understanding of You and Your will for my life. Holy Spirit, empower me to be Your witness. Cast out any fears in me and give me courage to speak boldly about my faith and the wisdom to know what to say, trusting in Your good timing and the power of Your Word.
Father, I rejoice in the gift of this new day. May the light of Your presence set my heart on fire to love You, Jesus, and to be Your radiant light to others. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight. Help me to walk by Your Word and not by my feelings. Help me to not be anxious or worry about anything, but to acknowledge Your sovereignty in all circumstances. Lord, I commit myself into Your hands this day.
